Costa Rica Cost Of Living Update: Brand New Catalytic Converter, Tail Pipe, & Rear Brake Repaired—$250
Yesterday we saw dozens of turtle heads sticking out of the ocean like submarine periscopes. Rob wanted to get a picture so like Ferdinand Magellan, he braved the turbulent seas and marched straight out in his tube socks.
This is was one of the funniest things I’ve seen in a while…
With the criminal level of import duty taxes that costa rica has which you must have paid on that camera it surprises me either of you would get 50 feet from the surf.
LOL… yes, I didn’t want him to lose that camera!
That save of the camera was more graceful than a drunk dolphin indeed….lol
The fun times continue on 🙂
My husband is smooth… very smooth.
Love the socks! My kids give me grief about how I dress. “Not cool dad!”
We will be down to Playa Hermosa in 2 weeks. Can’t wait…
Mitchel
p.s. I linked to your blog to inspire my audience….
Thanks Mitchel! My husband will defend his tube sock fashion sense…he thinks it’s classic…something that never goes out of style. I try to explain they were never in style but he ignores me. Thus, tube socks on the beach.
That was lucky!! My heart skipped a beat watching it.
My heart skipped a beat too. This isn’t the first time he’s done that. It’s why I was filming him. I knew something funny was going to happen!
I would agree, nice save man! Maybe the secret is in the socks?
You guys are living the good life. Cost of living in CA for just a catalytic converter that my truck currently needs = over $700 for the part alone! My truck has 3, and wouldn’t you know, it’s the special expensive one that needs replacing. No fancy car, it’s just a 1999 Nissan Frontier. Oh well.
So as I said, awesome deal on the repair guys! Pura vida!
Thanks Rich, hate it when we have car repairs. Sometimes it can take weeks to find the part. We failed car inspection 3 times, and thought we needed a catalytic converter. Ends up we had a tail pipe that had a loose fitting into the muffler and that’s what we needed to fix. Always an adventure here in Costa Rica!
Hahahaha! Life is too short to take off your tube socks. 🙂
I think my husband thinks this look is going to make a come back. But I’m not sure if it was ever in style in the first place.
