Your future neighbors Bill and Colleen told us about your blog and books yesterday. I am SO enjoying learning about your experience and hoping to visit them in the future and meet you.
This interview was fantastic.
Thanks so much Aubrey. It’s a wonderful neighborhood and I’m so happy for Bill and Colleen. They are going to have one heck of an adventure!
Hi Nadine. I have a question about furniture. Do you have any suggestions of where to purchase. We are building in hacienda pinilla and not sure whether to purchase in the states and ship or San Jose or Liberia. Any thoughts on this? Thank you. Pat weber
LOL… I’m dealing with that right now. There is a place in the solarium across from the Liberia airport called Artistica. They sell Ashley furniture, which is quite nice. I think I may be going to San Jose to look, since I have to go there for a million things for the B and B anyway.
Thank you. I will look into it. We are going to be in San Jose sometime early October for immigration so I was planning on looking around there also. I also had some dialog with pacific home furnishing in Liberia so I will check that out on our next trip to Tamarindo..thanks again for responding.
We are both 71, have been in Costa Rica and year and think we are in heaven.
We wake up every morning to the beauty of Costa Rica and enjoy our lives on Social Security.
Would not trade this life for anything.
I absolutely love living here. I daydreamed a lot about traveling, and maybe there was a different kind of life out there for me. I know you must have felt the same way. There is still adventure out there for all of us, it just takes the courage to pull that ripcord. It can be scary, but so worthwhile!
Hi Linda! I’ve had a question running around my head and I think you might have a good view of the situation. I retired 6 months ago.
My daughters best friend moved down to CR when she turned 30 and she works for a US firm over the Internet, so I have her view of life in CR and my daughter visits often….now I have read Nadine’s first brave year…..
But I wonder the difference in attitude of someone that has already gone through the retirement process of decompression before making the move. It seems the transition could be different in some ways. Could you speak to that?
